I created this illustration inspired by an ancient Iranian myth about Nowruz, the Persian New Year.
Originally, I designed the character as Baba Nowruz, the spirit of spring. But along the way, she transformed , becoming a woman. A symbol of renewal, resilience, and the creative force behind life itself.
In the myth, Baba Nowruz visits Nane Sarma (Grandmother Winter) at the end of winter. But he always arrives late , she's asleep. They never meet. It is said that if they ever speak, the world would come to an end.
In my version of this timeless tale, Baba Nowruz is reborn as a woman , carrying the light of spring and the unstoppable power of rebirth. Surrounded by hyacinths, she becomes a reminder that transformation is not only possible ,it’s beautiful.
